Is Douglas Colt Obsessed about the Nigerian e-mail Scam?

May 28th, 2009

Douglas Colt is a Silicon Valley litigation attorney with Quinn Emanuel LLP. His areas of practice often involve False Advertising and Commercial Litigation.

Perhaps that’s why Douglas Colt is so fascinated with one of the oldest Internet scams out there—the Nigerian e-mail scam. To date, there are already three posts about it on his blog at http://dougcolt.blogspot.com/ , where he admits, “Ok, so I’m a little obsessed with all of the Nigerian scam emails that flood my inbox.”

As Douglas Colt explains, “So I usually get at least 4 or 5 emails in my box each day telling me that I’ve won the UK lottery, that some banker in Nigeria needs to move millions of dollars out of the country, etc. etc. These scams have been going on for decades, and I would like to think that there isn’t a soul left in the world who isn’t wise to the scheme. Alas, it’s painfully apparent that’s not the case.”
