Tom Bonnell: A Lifelong Educator

For Tom Bonnell, nothing is more rewarding and satisfying than being able to contribute to the education of children and young adults. Mr Bonnell counts education as one of the most important pillars of society. Tom has dedicated nearly thirty years of his life to the role of teaching and to the administration and management of educational institutions.

Tom Bonnell started his career in education as a teacher of Latin and Ancient History at St. Thomas High School in 1981 where he also graduated from high school. Mr Bonnell found teaching to be something he enjoyed and found fulfilling especially that he was teaching a subject he loved. After spending a few years as a teacher at St. Thomas High School, Tom accepted a higher position at Episcopal High School in Houston as Chairman of the Department of Classics and Director of the Humanities Program. From there Tom Bonnell took on a number of various roles at different schools until he was finally able to become School Head at Savannah Country Day School in Georgia.

Tom Bonnell holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Latin and Greek from Duke University where he graduated as Magna Cum Laude in 1979. He received his Master’s Degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1985.
