Computer Corps Report – Eric Youn Visit

Throughout his career, Eric Youn has been a volunteer and an educator for the youth. However, his career isn’t only marked with being directly involved with caring and nurturing children to make sure that they get a better future. These are the core of his career but there is still more to that. Eric Youn has also been an advocate, a voice to be heard for the youth. Eric presents the needs of the youth to the rest of the world through forum presentations.

In 2002, Eric Youn delivered one of his earliest presentations in Atlanta, Georgia which was entitled The Montessori Approach to Member Work Assignments. In the same year, Mr Youn delivered the presentation entitled Using AmeriCorps Members in your Community Technology Center in Austin, Texas. Pitfalls and Problems in Distance Education Modalities and ’From a Distance’: Creating Engaged and Effective Learning Communities within Distance Education are some of his latest presentations which were both delivered in 2008 in Philadelphia.

Because of his outstanding work, Eric Youn received several grants and awards such as ‘Best in Austin’ Award – Best Bridge over the Digital Divide in 2001. Eric also received the University of Hawai’i SEED Grant in 2007. These awards and grants only show the passion and commitment of Mr Youn to the community, particularly the youth.

Eric Youn’s Charity Works

Eric Youn is a philanthropist and humanitarian who has been actively involved in a number of charity works and community service. Mr Youn has given donations to the All Church Home which is an emergency youth shelter where he used to work for.  The All Church Home is also a community outreach, prevention and awareness program designed to help the youth in crisis situations.
Aside from his involvement with All Church Home, Eric Youn is currently a Tennis Tournament Volunteer at the Hawai‘i Children’s Cancer Foundation in Honolulu where Eric helps coordinate tennis tournaments which are designed to raise funds for families of children who are afflicted with cancer.

Moreover, Eric Youn was also a Volunteer Home Studies Trainer for The Arrow Project in Arlington, Texas from March 2005 to December 2006. For this project, Mr Youn provided training for home study interview techniques and home study home inspection regulations that was geared for the potential fostering families.

Apart from that, Eric Youn was also a Volunteer Technical Consultant for the New Friends, New Life in Dallas, Texas from February 2004 to December 2006. As such, Eric was in-charge of providing consulting services for the development of its agency website.
